Other documents that can be provided
As it has been mentioned, the Aadhar card is the only document that must be provided to the respective authorities. Does this mean that all people who have invested or are the beneficiaries of the scheme will cease to get the privileges immediately? The answer is no. Issuing the Aadhar will take some time, and for this, the central government has said that the investors in the pension plan and the individuals getting the fuel subsidy who do not have the Aadhar card must submit other legal identification documents for the time being. The authorities will accept the driving license, Voter ID Card, Kisan Passbook that has a photograph of the person, MGNREGS issued job pass, ration card or nay other certificate or document that has been issued and signed by Tehsildar or gazetted officers.
Decision of the oil ministry
Direct Benefit Transfer is the brain child of the Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas. It is the process by which the fuel selling companies will credit the subsidy sum, given to the common people directly into the bank accounts. Thus, linking the Aadhar and the bank accounts is also a must. It has been done especially for the people who are getting the direct benefit of purchasing the fuel at low prices. Without the Aadhar card, there are chances that the benefits will not go to the deserving candidates and the middlemen will be profited. Poor people, mainly those who are listed under the poverty line will get the benefit of getting kerosene at low or subsidized rates.
