Aadhaar must for UP Board Registrations and Exams. The state has been facing the problems of false enrollment of student during the examination seasons. To put an end to this, the Secondary Board of Education of the state of UP has announced that all the students, sitting for the final examination of the 12th standard will have to provide all details related to the Aadhar Card, i.e. the Unique Identification Code. Producing the document and mentioning the code in the pre-examination application form has been made obligatory. The main responsibility of the board is to undertake and monitor the activities associated with the UP board exams.
Apart from the students of the 12th standard, the Secondary Board of Education has also passed the directive that all the students who are getting admission in the 9th standard will also have to fill a registration form and provide the Aadhar code.
What the authority said?
According to the official reports, Shail Yadav, the Secretary of UPBSE has commented that if any student is unable to or declines from producing the Unique Identification Code, then they will be barred from sitting for the examination. The state government has though of this scheme as it will assist the examination authority in identifying each of the students and verifying their legitimacy. With the assistance of the Aadhar code, the tricksters will not be able to pose as someone else and malign the education system.

As it has been stated by the authorities, reports suggest that most of the fake registrations are done for the examinations of 10th and 12th class. These two examinations are considered to be the most significant tests during the school years. To stop these fraudulent recordings, the state has made it compulsory for the students to provide their Aadhar Code while filling the applications.
This was possible when the registration was done manually. But now, with the seeding of the Aadhar Code, they will not be able to continue the process for long.
Authorities said that fake enlistments additionally help in redirecting cash while giving grants and a legitimate Aadhaar number would eliminate the possibility of false enrollment or pantomime in board exams.
Role of the DIOS
The enrollment of the students is a complex process and the compulsion of providing the Unique Identification Code is only expected to make even more complicated. But to streamline the process, the education boards has instructed district inspector of schools or the DIOS for entering the Aadhar code of each applicant and then enter the U-DISE cipher of the respective educational institute, during the online registration for examination. The responsibility of getting the student their Aadhar Card has been put on the shoulders of the DIOS. All this needs to be done before the exam registration season sets in from the month of July.

According to the official announcements, all the government aided, the fully government and the private educational institutes will have to follow the new directive of the government. Once the system gets implemented in a successful manner, the education scenario of UP will be cleansed. With the education and examination mafias out of the picture, the parents and the students will be able to restore their faith in the standard of the education in UP.
