Aadhaar must for benefits under Government’s TB control scheme. Under the new regulation that has been passed by the Union Health Ministry, the central government has decided that is a patient, suffering from TB, desires to continue to avail the free medical treatment from the government hospitals or health centers, they will have to provide their Aadhar code. The policy has been made mandatory and the department has also said that the people, who do not possess their UDI code, must attain the code by the end of August 31st. Initiatives on international and national scale
The World Health Organization (WHO) has taken an initiative to eradicate the virus completely from the face of the world by the end of 2020. But the central government under the leadership of Modi has taken the target of meeting the same goal by the end of 2025. Keeping in line with this aim, the government has revamped the TB program. Many things have been added to the scheme and the name has been changed to Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP).
Assisting people in getting the UDI code
It announcement also highlights that the health ministry will assist the people in acquiring their Aadhar Cards. If a certain tehsil or talku does not have any Aadhar Enrollment Center then the ministry will take the initiative to establish such centers in the area. It will assist the people in making the application for getting the Aadhar pass. All the activities will be done in cooperation of the UIDAI.
Benefits of the Government’s TB control scheme
Apart from the acquiring the medicines from the government health care centers and hospitals, the people who get their Aadhar codes will be provided with monetary assistance. The cash will assist the patient in acquiring adequate nutrition that will also go a long way in getting an upper hand on the disease.
What if you do not have the UDI code?
If any person, suffering from TB is interested in getting the government benefits will have to produce the Aadhar card. As many people are still to get their pass, the government has announced that for now, the people without the UDI code will be allowed to provide their ID details via producing their PAN card, Voter ID card, passbook details of bank account, ration card or government documents that contain the associated details. If the person has already applied for the Aadhar pass then they can produce the application slip code for the necessary linking procedure. As the notification was announced, the task of its implementation has started. It has been announced that the implementation will be done on a pan-nation basis and all the states, UTs and other areas will be brought under it.

According to the earlier reports published by WHO, India was ranked at the 6th position as long as the figures associated with TB patients are concerned. According to the latest survey, it has been said that the number of people, suffering from TB, per 1,00,000 is a whopping 217. So, the central government has a lot of task at hand.
